River Shapers
A short summary of an ongoing project which lives on www.mbrookewillbanksphotography.com/river-shapers
River Shapers lives as a poster campaign, an educational website, and part of an online exhibition with the OJMCHE. Posters are hung around the metro Portland area and in nearby parks and trailheads. The QR code on each poster leads to a website which hosts information about the USFS’s violent efforts to murder and remove Beavers from public lands and utilizes Radical Academic Writing to teach about the ecological roles and relationships which Beavers have with the land and its inhabitants.
The site also invites and provides resources for visitors to print out the posters and asks them to be put up around the public spaces they have access to; at the end of the webpage there is a compiled list with links to organizations and non-profits who’s work is primarily focused on the stewardship and creation of wetlands.
